20 000 Drums events
10 Youth from 3 different
high schools together with youth from 3 different
Youth Forums within Khayelitsha township, Western
Cape, South africa have been trained as drum facilitators
and supplied with drums and percussion instruments
by the 20 000 Drums project. The youth together
with an additional 20 youths will be drumming
together to join in the One World Beat Global
Drumming Event.

Youth and educators from 1 high school, 1 Primary
school and youth from Rosendal, Free State, South
Africa, have been trained as drum facilitators
and supplied with drums and percussion instruments
by the 20 000 Drums project. They will be gathering
together with an additional 20 youth to join in
the One World Beat Global Drumming Event.

World Beat 2006 marks the third consecutive year
of participation in Bangkok. Tokyo
Joe's Blues Club will feature 8 of Bangkok's
top blues and jazz bands donating their time and
skills to raise donations for underprivileged
children at the Human Development Foundation's
Mercy Centre.

in Edmonton, Canada, Change for Children and Heritage
Community Foundation Productions present a "30th
Anniversary Celebration in Song", in conjunction
with One World Beat 2006. Returning for a fourth
year with OWB is the incomparable folk musician,
Bill Bourne, along with Eivor Palsdottir, Tommy
Banks, Stewart MacDougall, Asani, Souljah Fyah,
Black Pioneer Heritage Singers, Mad Bomber Society,
Polonez Polish Dance Ensemble, Knock School of
Irish Dance, Aysha Wills and Michael Massey, and
many more.
