Bernard Woma Trio Headlines Third Annual
NMU Festival Event!
On
March 24th, 2006, starting at 7pm, Northern Michigan
University will host its third annual OneWorld
Beat concert to benefit programs helping children
affected by HIV/AIDS. This year's proceeds will
go to the Tumaini Children's Home, an orphanage
for Kenyan children. "Tumaini" means
hope in Swahili, and the Tumaini home--located
about 45 minutes from the Nairobi city center--was
one of the first sites in Kenya to provide antiretroviral
treatment in Kenya. Tumaini is supported by the
First Presbyerian Church, Front Street, Marquette,
Michigan.
