The
One World Beat vision
The idea behind One World Beat is to unite
musicians around the world for a good cause and
thousands have supported the project. One World
Beat 2003 generated benefits for nonprofits like
United Planet, an Internet-based charity devoted
to peace-building around the world through community
and technology- based programs and intercultural
education. Other local charities were able to
raise funds for people hurt in bushfires in Australia,
children in need in Lithuania, victims of violence
in Alaska, youth education programs in the USA
and Japan, for villagers in El Salvador to maintain
their heritage, landslide survivors in Bolivia,
and youth affected by HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.
In 2004 we focused on HIV/AIDS, and chose one
official charity--Keep A Child Alive--a US-based
pioneering treatment endeavor now operating in
Africa, which helps children and their families
infected and affected by the disease. Some funds
raised also stayed at the local level, with a
number of musicians and nonprofits donating their
time and talents to help grassroots HIV/AIDS organizations
and enhance education and prevention programs.
In 2005 we hope you will help us to raise funds
and awareness for our designated help projects,
as well as giving locally so that all might be
safe, healthy, and have sufficient means to live
and thrive. Music Making A Difference: it never
sounded so good!
