OWB
2005 is thrilled to announce the return
of Thirst and Amy Antin, who performed
during Festival 2004! They will be
performing on March 24, starting at
8:30pm, at the
Stadtgarten, one of Europe's most
well-known jazz clubs, in Cologne,
Germany. Thirst is a 5-member combo
mixing Latin, funk, and soul of the
1970's together with electronic music
such as house and drum 'n' bass. Their
new album, "Thirst", can
be sampled, along with video clips,
on the quintet's site (www.thirstweb.com).
They've been called "the most
promising independent soul artists
of Middle Europe, with their special
e-funk style". For more information
contact Phil Schneider (info@thirstweb.com).
Amy Antin, a transplanted New Yorker,
is a versatile singer-songwriter who
works solo, in jazz and electric bands,
and an acoustic trio, with a unique
mix of blues and country influences.
She has founded her own organization,
"room", which aims to support
the work of singer-songwriters in
Germany and Europe through a series
of concerts. For OWB 2005, Amy will
perform in an event called "Room
for Peace", and says she's really
looking forward to it. See more about
Amy at her website (www.amyantin.de),
sample "Ain't Cut to Measure"
and "Pretty Little Girl",
and contact her at amyantin@aol.com.
