UK: Singer-Songwriter Massimo Martella at London's Comedy Pub on FEBRUARY 28th

Singer-songwriter Massimo Martella, whose beautiful ballads include influences of Nick Drake and Jim Morrison, will be performing at The Comedy Pub in London's West End on February 28th, starting at 10pm . The Comedy Pub features the talents of many artists associated with Big Note, a showcase for contemporary songwriting talent. Created in 1997 to give singers and songwriters a place to be heard, Big Note provides a website packed with information (www.bluenote.co.uk) and performers for a series of "unplugged and acoustic" gigs at venues in London and the UK, as well as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Massimo, who also performs as part of the 4-member band, the Plaines, writes his own music and plays guitar, piano, and harmonica. He is a poet, too, whose words have often found their way into his lyrics. For more on the band see www.theplaines.com, where you can read about Massimo's "Subway to the Stars" solo acoustic album, check out his poetry, and the band's EP, "Remain Seated". His poem, "Different Song" (which concludes with the line: "it's time to sing a different song") is a perfect reminder of what One World Beat is all about, and we applaud this musician making a difference for children with his spirited songs!
