Larry Edoff
Larry Edoff is an introspective and dynamic musician, whose dedication to music has brought him distinction as an original and successful singer/songwriter, composer and pianist. He studied voice, piano and composition at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston and later studied orchestration with world-renowned composer John Corigliano. In addition, Larry holds an MA in Music Education/Composition.

Larry's interest in world music and rhythms took him to Ghana, West Africa, to study percussion among the Ewe people, to Havana, Cuba and to Bahia, Brazil to expand his rhythmic vocabulary. In the summer of 2001, his band BAO toured extensively throughout Greece, and while he was there, Larry performed at a 12th-century fortress on the island of Corfu.

Larry placed as a semi-finalist in Rolling Stone Magazine's 1999 Songwriting Contest for emerging artists and placed as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Love is the official song for LoveProjects and part of the UNESCO-endorsed project, New Songs for Peace. In 2004 More Than I, a song from his new CD, In Subtle Tones, was included in the New Songs for Peace Project as well. With its powerful message about unity, it is a welcome addition to that project, which makes a contribution to world peace through the musical expression of international artists.

One World Beat is proud to include the Swiss office of UNESCO as one of our own invaluable partners. Previous featured artists include: Stuart Blance / Scotland.

Broadcast plans

The One World Beat global music festival is not just a fusion of music styles from all around the world—it is also a platform for different methods of artist presentation. Several One World Beat events, including concerts in England, Spain and Australia, will be broadcast live on the internet. With the help of Radio Devil, New York rock artist Larry Edoff is taking music's technical revolution a few steps further.

Radio Devil, based in Asheville, North Carolina, will work with Larry to stage a three-day, One World Beat internet radio broadcast. Music fans all over the world will be able to listen and participate in this event over the web. Contributing independent artists will work with Radio Devil, providing music downloads, music CDs, and other promotional materials for the fundraising event.

Radio Devil is also looking for sponsors to contribute services and merchandise. Listeners will be able to make donations via the Radio Devil website, and Radio Devil is hoping to be able to offer a wide selection of promotional items as thank-you gifts and incentives for those who wish to make larger donations. Participating artists and sponsors will be asked to place a link on their websites to announce the event and enroll others to join in on the Radio Devil One World Beat Fund Raising Broadcast. Please see http://www.radiodevil.com for details!

"In a world filled with uncertainties, it is important for everyone to help promote positive messages and help people in need. The children of the world are the future and legacy of all. We must do our part to insure the future." —James Wilson CEO and President, RadioDevil
