Download and give to AIDS/HIV-affected children at the same time

Until March 31 World Talent Quest is donating 10% from its share of sales of ANY and ALL mp3 legal downloads to Keep a Child Alive, One World Beat beneficiary.

World Talent Quest promotes and provides original music from independent artists. Artists give WTQ permission to sell their music; they, in turn, receive 50% of the revenue. Clips are provided so listeners can decide whether to purchase the full-length mp3's.

WTQ is committed to maximizing the percentage of profits due to artists, minimizing the time to market for an artist's work, maximizing an artist's creative and publishing control and maintaining an artist's independent status. No exclusive deals are required, and promotional efforts take place across the whole of the WTQ artist community. WTQ is working with recording artists only at the moment, but software has been designed to handle other media formats, such as high-definition graphics, video and text, so there are many potential avenues—for the site, the tools and type of partnership by artists of all media.

Ricart Prats of WTQ states: "I am committed to creating responsible, sustainable, independent and fair business models. The internet gives us this opportunity, and we need to act before the bigger corporate forces close this window. I am interested in independent music as a change agent, in sustainable economic systems and fair trade for musicians, and selling downloads for charitable purposes. I am happy to allocate a portion of my website for OWB artists and to raise funds for OWB-affiliated nonprofits."

We are pleased and honored to welcome Ricart and WTQ as an OWB partner and look forward to working with WTQ and all of our friends and partners to realize our goal of "music making a difference," in this case—one download at a time!
