Over 6000 see Sydney gig live

The first-ever One World Beat event to be transmitted live over the Internet took place in Sydney, Australia and drew an audience of over 6000 Web viewers from countries around the world.

Held at The Basement, one of Sydney's premier music venues the concert illustrated the concept behind One World Beat: Music making a difference in all of our lives. A great line up of artists performed throughout the night including Ian Moss (Cold Chisel), Monique Brumby, Jimmy Little, Peter Cupples (ex Stylus), Brett Hunt, stringmansassy, Tim Carter, Field Day and Kat Frankie.

The gig was initiated by Club Acoustica and web TV pioneer The Basement who gathered the exceptional talent for the Sydney showcase. All performances were unamplified, stripped-down and acoustic -- music in its rawest form: words and tunes!

The performances supported the Australia-based Here For Life organization for the prevention of youth suicide.
