Bridging The Beat in Wales!

Glyn Mills, OWB events coordinator in Wales, has a background in marketing and sales and has worked in local government and education. He is a full-time music promoter and band manager with a home venue called The Tollhouse in Bridgend, South Wales, where he works with bands from the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, Europe and the UK. He helps promote a variety of music including punk, metal, rock and acoustic/indie. He is also a promoter at the legendary TJ's, Newport, South Wales, where most up-and-coming bands play (there will be a gig at TJ's for OWB 2004) and has booked events at places like The Garage in London.

Glyn has long believed in the OWB motto and mission—music making a difference—and puts this into practice working on events such as the Ant War Tour of 2003 in South Wales and the Glastonbury Festival (helping people with disabilities). He raises funds for youth groups as well as for the Haiti Fund, an educational exchange program between North Wales and Northern Haiti which he helps run with his business partner, Darren Dobbs. More about Glyn: http://www.cunning-stunt.com for promotion work and for the Haiti Fund.

"We're particularly keen to gain help from venue owners and promoters. They can nominate a gig on the weekend, with some or all profits donated to the One World Beat project. In return they'll receive recognition and specialist PR support."
