Steve Borg, OWB event coordinator in Malta, has been approaching artists in different countries, recommending artists for OWB events and supplying media contact information. Steve's radio program, Worldbeat, on PBS in Malta, features music from 120 countries, and he has a playlist of 16,000 world-music tracks.

He has already organized one event for March 18, an evening with Malta's foremost singer/songwriter, Walter Micallef, who will be performing original songs accompanied by four musicians on guitar, harmonica, double bass, and percussion. He is eager to do others—with an eye on a world-famous guitarist/vocalist, an icon in France.

When not organizing for OWB, Steve travels to places like the Sahara and meets dignitaries such as the President of Malta (photo at left).
